Summer is amazing for a lot of things. You know, the beach, cookouts, outdoor concerts- it’s all relevant. But, one thing we can all agree on is that the summer heat can also bring some unwanted beauty problems! Here are some of the most common ones I run into, and what you can do to nip them in the bud!!
Problem: Frizzy hair
It could be from a day at the beach or just the overall, sticky humidity that is summer. Either way, frizzy hair is always problematic, and brushing it only makes it worse! What to do, what to do?
Post-shower, grab some of Bumble & Bumble’s “Don’t Blow It” serum. Apply it to damp hair, and voila, say hello to frizz-free locks!
Problem: Summer glow
So, you want the perfect summer glow for your face, but skin damage from the sun is definitely not worth it. Right? Right.
Don’t fret. You can create the perfect summer glow without getting damage from the sun! The makeup technique to achieve it is called “strobing” and I actually wrote a blog about it a few weeks back. Here ya go!
Problem: Dark skin
If you’re one of the brave ones who likes to get a little toasty in the summer sun, you might run into the problem of darkening scars. Ever noticed that scars get darker with sun exposure? It’s totally normal, but there is a way to protect that vulnerable skin!
Go for some sunscreen that is made specifically for your face, and then dab some directly on your scars. I like Neutrogena’s Clear Face Sunscreen.
Problem: Fading nail polish
With its damaging effects on other things, it’s no surprise that the summer sun dulls your fresh mani’s and pedi’s.
Keep your color shiny and bright, just make sure you pick a darker tone! Yep, it’s really that simple!
Problem: Last minute date
You’ve been at the beach all day and all of sudden you need to be ready for a unexpected dinner date! Oh no, you’ve only got a couple minutes until your date arrives to pick you up! Now what?
First things first, breathe!! After that, use these tips on how to achieve beauty in seconds!
Problem: It’s. SO. Hot.
Depending on where you live, raging temperatures can cause a change in your plans and more importantly, your warddrobe! You wanted to layer that cute, plaid button down with a cotton tank. But, it’s just too hot!
Try the Lace Sling Shaping Tank. Made out of nylon and spandex, the tank fits more like a second skin than a heavy undershirt. It’s the perfect staple for layering, because it comes in nude and black, plus you can also rock it alone!!
