Summer’s end is nearing, and that means it’s time to make sure you’ve soaked up all the glorious indulgences that the season has to offer! For me, it’s the little things in life that bring the most joy. Movies at home, good food and drinks, or spending time with family, that’s where the fun is! Because fun is where the heart is (and also where the tequila is).

Anywho, I’m excited to share some tips that ensure your success at soaking up the rest of summer with seamless ease:

Eat and drink UP!

Fellow foodies! I’ve got three recipes YOU HAVE TO TRY! They’re quick, simple, and perfect for the remaining days of summer, via one of my favorite Pinterest pinners! Just click on the photo to view the recipe!

Avocado/Tomato Toast

Sweet and Spicy Bacon Chicken

Chicken/Avocado Pita

In case you missed it, I gave a pretty awesome rundown of my FAVORITE cocktails for the sunny months. You can find it here. But to refresh your memory, the best bases and mixers for summer are: vodka. Oh wait, I need a mixer, don’t I?! Oops! Well, if you have to add some flavor (aside from olive juice), go with kahlua, club soda (add lime for flavor), or cranberry juice. OR, the best suggestion to soak up the rest of summer with? Key West lemonade. Here’s how:

  • Combine two ounces of vodka (Tito’s, for me) and two ounce of sweet and sour mix.
  • Add some sprite and cranberry juice
  • Mix it all, over ice
  • Pour, and enjoy!

Get moving!

In a few months it will be snowing, or it will at least be too cold to go outside. You’ll regret not using the sunny days we have right now to get outside! Take advantage of the natural vitamin D and get some fresh air! Whether it’s your local farmer’s market or a park, take a stroll or just have a seat on a bench and people watch!

Go somewhere!

There’s nothing quite like a sporadic getaway! Using sites like Travelocity and Orbitz can help you plan your whole trip, for less! Those guys will literally help you get everything in line, from rental cars to flights to hotels, all with a few clicks of your computer mouse! The best part? You’ll probably save some money in the process.

Do you have other ideas? Share them with me! I’d love to hear about how you’re soaking up what’s left of summer! Comment here or tweet me, or Facebook is good, too!!
